The primary mission of the Biology Department is to foster a sustainable balance of high quality academic programs, externally-funded research, and service to the University, Commonwealth and our profession. We have created a vibrant undergraduate curriculum with a growing enrollment and extensive opportunities for mentoring and hands-on research experience. At the Graduate level we are continuing to expand our two major interdisciplinary foci, Environmental Biology and Molecular/Cell Biology.
